Orange Wins Game One with Panther Creek 4-1.  Panthers fall in the Nightcap 6-4

The Orange Boys of Summer scored 3 runs in the top if the ninth inning to finish a suspended game from June 15.  Brecker Acosta got the win in relief.  Panther micues proved costly in the second game as the Wildcats split the season series.  Orange is 6-2 on the season.

Henry Ricca throws 6 innings for the win.  Junior teams now 6-2.

Anthony Kent delivers a complete game performance allowing 1 run on 5 hits with 6 strike-outs and one walk.  Cole Watkins has 2 hits including a homerun.

Orange and Panther Creek Suspended at 1-1 after 8 Innings.

The opening game for the Orange Panthers' senior summer team called due to darkness.  The game will be completed when Panther Creek visits Orange on June 30.

Panthers Face Big Week

The Mid-State 2A title will be on the line when Orange (10-1) and Graham (9-1) battle on back-to-back nights.  Orange will host the Red Devils on Friday and travel to Graham on Saturday.

Three Jordan pitchers combine to 1-hit Orange in non-conference action on Thursday.  Rob Schilke homers for the Panthers.

J. T. Pope gets the game-winng RBI and Scott Jarvis pitches final tow innings for the win.

Luke Hawksworth improves to 4-0 on the mound and the Panthers move to 9-1 in the Mid-State 2A and 13-4 overall.

 North Carolina A&T’s Marquis Riley earned Rookie of the Week

Riley (2B, 5-11, Fr., Orange HS and Efland, North Carolina) batted .550 (11-for-20) last week to aid the Aggies to a 3-2 mark. In a three-game series sweep of Savannah State, Riley tallied three home runs, two doubles and seven RBI.  He added 13 putouts and 15 assists during the five game stretch.

Friday, April 3- varsity game at Graham has been cancelled due to wet conditions.  This game is rescheduled for May 6 at Graham - 7:00 pm.

Orange Defeats the DSA 15-1

The Panthers bang out 16 hits against the Bulldogs.  Luke Hawksworth gets his first career win on the mound.  Orange improves to 5-1 and 2-0 in the Mid-State 2A.

 

Cowboys Ride Panthers' Errors to 10-7 Win

Orange fell to a tough Southwest Guilford baseball team on Saturday.  The Panthers scored seven runs on eight hits but could not overcome five defensive miscues to fall to 4-1.

 

 

 

 

Orange and NCSSM Suspended in the top of the fifth due to rain.  Game will be completed on April 21 at OHS before a the regularly scheduled game.  Games will start at 6:00.

Orange survived several Davie County comebacks for a 14-10 victory.  Jake Manzulich delivered the deciding blow with double to drive in three runs in the sixth inning.

Orange Baseball Coach Will Lead Team North Carolina

Orange High School head baseball coach Dean Dease has been selected to coach the North Carolina Senior All-Star Team in 2009. (OHS Baseball News)

 

 

2009 Varsity Baseball Schedule Released

The 2009 Orange Panthers baseball team will host 16 home games this spring, including three days of the Hilltop Invitational Tournament.  The Panthers Mid-State 2A Conference schedule will include 5 teams that made the state playoffs last year (Northwood, Cedar Ridge, Graham, Cardinal Gibbons and Science and Math). The defending state champions will also host East Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, Bartlett Yancey and Southwest Guilford.  The Panthers will participate in the Impact Baseball High School Tournament held at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary early in the season.  Orange will also travel to former PAC-6 rival and traditional 4A power Jordan High School.  Check our schedule pages for the complete printable schedule.  The Junior Varsity schedule is also available.
