HEAD COACH : DEAN DEASE
Coach Dease has served twenty-one years as the baseball coach at Orange HS.   From 1985-1987 he coached the OHS Junior Varsity team.  He has an overall record of 333-175.   Coach Dease has been selected Conference Coach of the Year seven times in three different conferences.  In 1992 and 2008 he was selected as Region 3 Coach of the Year by the North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association.  During his tenure at OHS, the Panthers have won seven regular league titles and one conference tournament title.  During his tenure at OHS over 40 players have gone on the play college or professional baseball.  He has coached 12 All-State players and 1 All-American.  Three former players were picked in the Major League Baseball Draft- Chris Maples, Josh Horton and Daniel Hargrave.  Three former players signed as free agents- Torrey Pettiford, Matt McCay and Mike Harris.

Coach Dease is the head coach and director of the Orange High summer baseball teams in the Central Carolina Scholastic Baseball League. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the CCSSL.  For ten years (1995-2005) h
e was the Orange County Post 452 American Legion Baseball Manager and Athletic Officer.

From 1993-1994
Coach Dease served as a Region 3 assistant coach in the North Carolina State Games.  In 1995 he was the Region 3 head coach as Region 3 earned a Bronze Medal in the State Games.  Coach Dease was a winning assistant coach on the Senior East Team in the 1996 State Games.  Coach Dease recently served again as head coach of Region 3 in the 2005 North Carolina State Games and then served as an assistant coach on the East Team in 2006.
  Coach Dease continues to serve the State Games a volunteer with the scholastic baseball competition.  In 2009 Coach Dease was selected to be the head coach for team North Carolina in the North Carolina - South Carolina All-Star Challenge in Myrtle Beach, SC.
 
He is a member of the North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association, member of the National High School Baseball Coaches Association and member of the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Coach Dease is the Camp Coordinator of the Orange High Youth Baseball Camp and the Orange County Fall Hitting Camp.  He has directed the camps for over 18 years.  He has coached in summer and winter camps at UNC, N. C. State, UNC-W and Elon.

Coach Dease is a 1984 graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.  He grew up in Gaston County and played baseball, football and basketball from 1978-1980 at Bessemer City High School in Bessemer City, NC.

Coach Dease is married to the former Jan Monroe of Mint Hill, NC.  They have two daughters, M'Lynn, age 10, and Abby, 6.

Chuck Moore- Outfield, Hitting, Firstbase Coach
Coach Moore is in his second year as a varsity assistant at OHS, after serving over 10 years as an assistant at Southern Durham.  Coach Moore will be coaching outfielders and hitters for the Panthers as well as coaching first base.  Coach Moore played at Southern Durham High School, East Carolina and Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College).  He also played semi-pro baseball with the Durham Raiders.

Richard Reynolds- Pitching Coach
Coach Reynolds is a varsity assistant coach at OHS for his fifth year.  He is responsible for coaching the pitchers.  While at Orange Coach Reynolds has developed four OHS pitchers who played in college. 

Coach Reynolds came to Orange after a successful coaching career at South Granville High School.  One of his former players, left-handed pitcher Matt Harrison, was drafted in the 3rd round by the Atlanta Braves in 2003.  Coach Reynolds was an All-Area pitcher at Southern Durham HS and went on to pitch at the University of South Carolina- Aiken.  He pitched for the Durham Raiders in the Roxboro Semi-Pro League.  He is a former high school and college umpire.
